Jeff Berretta, General Manager of Lark Creek Walnut Creek, draws on his 16 years of experience in the hospitality industry to uphold the restaurant’s reputation for providing American country charm and energy in an informal yet refined atmosphere.
“I work with a strong team at Lark Creek Walnut Creek to provide an unforgettable dining experience for each guest that walks through our doors,” says Berretta. “I try my best to enable our guests to experience the same passion that I feel for food and wine by providing friendly and knowledgeable service.”
Berretta, a San Francisco East Bay native, first entered the restaurant industry as a server and was inspired to begin a career in front of the house management when a local vintner gave Berretta and other servers a tour of his winery followed by a tasting and lunch. After serving and moving up the ranks at various Bay Area restaurants, Berretta joined Lark Creek Walnut Creek in 2000 as a manager, where he initially spent four years. He next moved to Stockton, California, with his growing family and took the position of Manager and Beverage Director of Wine & Roses in Lodi, California. He returned to Lark Creek Walnut Creek as General Manager in 2007. Explains Berretta, “I’m thrilled to be back at the restaurant where I first learned to appreciate the importance of a farm-to-table philosophy.”
When he is not at the restaurant, Berretta spends time with his wife Danica and children, Jordan and Jacob in their home in Stockton. He also enjoys wine tasting and visiting California wine regions.
